Method

How we teach breakout recognition and retest planning — the sequence behind every intensive and clinic.

01

Map the range

Locate the consolidation that matters on your timeframe. Ignore decorative lines. Name the highs and lows that actually rejected price.

02

Define the break

Write what must print for a break to count: close location, displacement, and what volume or follow-through you require.

03

Plan the retest

Mark the zone where price should return, the candle behaviour you accept, and the level that cancels the idea before you size.

04

Review the journal

After the session, compare intent to fill. Note early entries, ignored invalidation, and levels that deserve redrawing.

Why retests sit at the centre

A breakout without a planned retest is often a hope that momentum continues. We treat the retest as the decision point: either former resistance behaves as support (or the reverse), or the break fails and you stand aside. Teaching that pause is the core of our technical analysis training.

Where this method shows up

The Breakout & Retest Intensive walks all four steps across six sessions. Clinics compress steps one to three onto a single instrument. Structure labs practise the same sequence in a group with shared critique.
